Less than a five minute drive from the Edinburgh City By-pass is Dalkeith Country Park. With 1,000 acres to explore and six waymarked walking trails you won’t be stuck for somewhere new to explore every time you visit. Don’t forget to stop by the wonderful Restoration Yard post-walk to treat your pup to a doggy ice cream or special liver cake from The Larder.
Vogrie House and Country Park
Another dog walking haven is Vogrie House and Country Park. With 11.5 miles of signed paths through woodlands and the Tyne Valley there is no shortage of picturesque routes to take. Vogrie is also home to its own Tree Top Café, serving a large selection of hot and cold drinks, freshly made food and a delicious range of cakes - and it's dog friendly!
Roslin Glen

Running through the woodland is the South Esk River, perfect for a doggy paddle on a hot summers day. Lord Ancrum's Wood sits on the edge of Newbattle Abbey College, simply cross the bridge and let the adventure begin.
The Pentland Hills

We recommend the Glencorse route as it's a nice easy one to do. Head along one path, up a wee slope and a good dose of fresh air is guaranteed.
