Melville Golf plays host to war veterans coaching session
Earlier this month, Melville Golf was host to a war veterans rehab and golf clinic. The golfers came from all over UK & N Ireland and had a coaching session on the Trackman Range and 9 hole golf course. This session was organised by the On Course Foundation.
The On Course Foundation ‘s aim is to support the recovery of injured and sick Service personnel and veterans through nationwide confidence building golf events and opportunities for employment in the golf industry.
Golf training offers veterans a powerful antidote to post-service isolation, restoring the mission-driven focus and tight-knit camaraderie they left behind. Golf is the ‘hook’ and is one of a few sports that can be played on a level playing field regardless of injury, illness or issue – engaging beneficiaries in outdoor, physical activity which allows them to focus on what they can do. The activities provide them with the opportunity to access hidden parts of their skillset, gaining confidence which can be transferred to everyday life
Another session in planned for Melville Golf later in the summer and Melville golf team look forward to being the venue.
At Melville – Corporate and Group away days
Our professional coaches can transform a standard corporate outing into an interactive experience:
– Short Game Masterclasses: Focusing on chipping, putting, and bunker play—where strokes are truly saved.
– On-Course Strategy: Coaches can play a few holes with different groups to offer real-time course management advice and club selection tips.
– Trackman & Video Analysis: Using launch monitors to gather data on club speed and ball flight, which can be sent directly to golfers after the event.
– Beat the Pro & Longest Drive: Adding a fun competitive element where guests try to out-drive or out-shoot the visiting professional on a specific hole
