BIG Active Adventures
Walk, cycle or ski. Climb, run, paddleboard or even bounce. All these activities can be done in Midlothian. So to help you find your next adventure, here are some suggestions. Afterwards, why not consider a pub lunch or tea and cake as a reward?
Walk, cycle or ski
Head to the Pentland Hills Regional Park for a hike or a cycle. Check out these Four Pentland Reservoir walks to consider. Book cycle hire with Pentland Cycle Hire, now available at weekends at Flotterstone car park. For skiing and snowboarding thrills and skills, Midlothian Snowsports Centre has all the options.
Adventure days - refresh & refuel
Plan your post activity stops at a local pub like The Flotterstone Inn, The Original Rosslyn Inn or The Papermill Lasswade. From the Pizza Kitchen at Stewart Brewing to the Secret Herb Garden Cafe, you don’t have to travel far for lots of choice.
Jump, run, paddle
Join the weekly park run at Vogrie Country Park. The fun and friendly 5k run will start your weekend on a high. Stop at Soutra Café at Pathhead nearby for a delicious breakfast or lunch. For a fun day out with the family try trampolining at RYZE and explore the interconnected field of trampolines for all ages. At Go Ape at Dalkeith Country Park you can go on a tree top adventure and see the forest from a whole new perspective.
For something a little more calming, go paddleboarding at Gladhouse Reservoir, the largest body of freshwater in Midlothian. Contact Skymonster Watersports and Driftwood Adventures for some watersports fun.
